Item Description

Make your own AFFORDABLE Clean Laundry Detergent. This recipe makes enough for up to 150 loads for under $20.

INGREDIENTS

1/2 bar Dr. Bronner's unscented Castile soap

5 cups distilled water

3/4 cup OxiClean Baby Stain Remover

3/4 cup Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda Household Cleaner and Laundry Booster

90 (divided) drops Lemon or Lemongrass Essential Oil

SUPPLIES

Large Stockpot

Three one gallon glass jars with pump dispensers (available at Amazon) or 5 gallon heavy duty plastic bucket with lid for storage.

1. Grate the entire bar of soap into the stockpot over low heat.

2. Add water & increase temperature to medium high.

3. Stir until dissolved.

4. Add OxiClean & Washing Soda and mix until dissolved.

5. Remove from heat and allow to cool for a few minutes.

6. Pour 1 qt. of hot water into each of 3 containers.

7. Add 2 cups of soap mixture and 30 drops of essential oil into each container. Stir, then add enough cool water to fill each container.

8. Let mixture thicken overnight.

9. Use 1/4-1/2 cup of laundry soap per load.

Note: Shake container of laundry soap before using.
