Blueberry Cardamom Scones - Oils in the Kitchen

Item Description

What you will need: 3 cups all-purpose flour, 1/3 cup sugar, 1 tbsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt, 12 tbsp butter (cut into pieces), 1 pint blueberries, 

3/4 cup milk, 2 drops Cardamom essential oil, 2 drops Ginger essential oil, and 2 tbsp turbinado sugar for sprinkling


Preheat oven to 375˚F and line a rimmed baking sheet with a piece of silicone mat. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter using a pastry blender or 2 knives. 

Add in blueberries. Pour the milk with the essential oils into the batter and stir gently to combine. Divide the dough in half and form two large balls. Form them into 6-inch circles and cut each circle into 6 triangles. Place scones onto the baking sheet and sprinkle sugar onto each scone. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
